Yoga reminds us of the very essence of the Thanksgiving spirit, one of opening our hearts to experience and feel the gratefulness for all the seeds which we have planted and which have grown in our fields and in our inner garden. An opportunity to enjoy and to celebrate while feeling thankful for our full harvest!
The present moment, which we all refer to as the now, the very place where we center our yoga practice contains all the lessons that we need to learn, all we need to do is show up, become aware and listen to the guidance of each evolving moment.
Yoga offers us the opportunity to gradually learn to feel comfortable with 'what is.' Each steady pose, 'asana' gives us the gift of becoming one with each breaking moment, each emotion, each sensation and each feeling so as we engage in the yogi path of non-resistance, we are able to be more at ease with letting life flow and taking it all as it comes.
The word dharma, like so many Sanskrit terms, has different meanings depending on context and who’s defining it. The idea of one “living one’s dharma” has historically meant that a person lives in a way that is in accordance with the laws of nature and destiny.
One path which may lead us to the fruitful road of mediation is contemplation. During the Fall, when all the colors of the leaves are still dancing on the trees and those already on the ground capture our attention, it is an ideal time to wander into the inviting path of contemplation.
