Bring On All Fruits & Veggies!
Fruits and vegetables are irresistible! They come wrapped in their most attractive and colorful package and appear to be always inviting us to grab any one of those juicy pieces of vibrant life-force. They easily satiate us because they stand out as the most natural and instinctive choice to satisfy our true hunger.
As our society experiences more and more waves of disease and illness affecting a good number of the population, more and more studies keep revealing clearly the changes we need to make to incorporate the right foods and habits to our lifestyle and diets. Many of the studies done in the past few years are reporting the benefits of eating more fresh, uncooked fruits and vegetables instead of the processed grains and animal products that constitute the main part of a traditional diet. A lot of the research done so far demonstrates that the consumption of raw fruits and vegetables is one of the basis of good health. Yet, many of us still hardly manage to include 3 to 5 servings of fruits and vegetables in our diets.
Often we are unaware that raw fruits and vegetables are healthy and highly nutritious foods and we should do our very best to eat them everyday. Indeed raw fruits and vegetables are so important that they should be one of our main sources of energy throughout the day. As one tries to move away from cooked and denatured foods to eating more living foods, we start to see all the possibilities that open up and we can dive into a full selection of options: color, texture, shape and flavor.
Fruits and vegetables along with raw nuts and seeds can give one’s body all the nourishment to produce excellent health and a life free of the so-common colds and other illnesses we are so used to experiencing and which we’ve come to accept as natural and normal.
Now we know that we don’t have to keep making the same old choices on automatic pilot. We can stop, think and try something new and different. We can take full control of our health by feeding our bodies good quality of living plant foods; such as: fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. They can give us large amounts of life-force without taking much energy at all from our bodies to digest them. Of course, the greens are always a plus because they supplement our diet with all their fabulous array of minerals.
Another great advantage is that fruits and veggies come in their own natural recyclable package, which in many cases, we can actually eat! They are rich in water content so they hydrate our bodies and in fiber which preserves our optimal intestinal function. Furthermore, they provide us with the energy springing from an amazing variety of colors, each one representing one of the many vitamins trapped in those delicious natural foods.
Thus, the path is simple: the best way to avoid sickness and to enjoy overall natural health is to embrace all the foods that Mother Nature has to offer in their “natural unprocessed state.”
